Planning on doing some traveling? Well that’s great, mostly every teenager dreams about seeing the world. Well not just teenagers, every person wants to see the world. But in order to go to a different country you need a passport and several other things, like foreign currency and information needed for the traveled destination. Well if you are going for the first time that means you will need to get a passport. And here is what you will need to apply for your passport the first time.
First of all you must apply in person for the first time, and if you are under 16 or even older there might be some special requirements for you to apply. You can check what those requirements are online. You must first buy and complete DS-11 form required for US passport. With that form and all others that are required by the DS-11 form you need to go to an Acceptance Facility or any Passport Agency. With those forms you also need to provide the evidence of US citizenship. That includes any previous passports, birth certificate or certificate of citizenship. If you don’t have any of those or you have the forms that are not accepted you may use secondary evidence of citizenship.
You must also bring with you an acceptable identification. Those may be previous passport, driver’s license or a state ID. If you don’t have any of those documents valid you may present secondary combination of documents because they won’t be admitted as acceptable identification if single. The documents are social security card, credit card, employee ID or library card, if you can’t provide those in a combination you will need to have a witness that knows you longer than 2 years and has a proof of citizenship. The identification you are presenting must also have a photocopy. Of course there is a fee to be paid which you can find out online or by asking at one of the mentioned institutions. And the last things you need when applying for passport are two passport photos. They need to be standard passport size which you don’t need to know, just tell the photographer that your picture is for a passport and he will give you the right format. But you should know that on those photographs you cannot wear uniforms, hats or dark glasses unless they are used for medical reasons.
That is basically all you need to know in order to apply for a passport. If you have a criminal past or some minor criminal record you will need extra documentation in order to get a passport or you might not even be allowed to apply for a passport. You can check that information on US government website. Any forms that are required can be bought at any bookstore or administration office. The rest you will need for your trip when you get your passport is a good preparation which requires getting some info on the country you are going and the will to have a good time.
Every teenager in the world wishes to travel and to explore new countries, new places, to meet new people, basically to live a full life. Most of the teenagers unfortunately don’t have the means to travel around the world, many of teenagers don’t have the funds to travel to the neighboring state. There are places that you can go with no money, but if you are set to go to some other country and have the funds you need to be careful with many things. And the best way to be careful is to be prepared, once you are prepared you can deal with any situation that may occur.
First thing you need to do is check everything you need for your trip, from passport to customs regulations. You need to cover every possible detail in order to have a safe travel. One of the most important things when traveling overseas or to any country that has a different currency is to prepare the currency up front. You won’t get far if you go to the country you don’t know without some local currency in your pocket.
Why is it important to prepare foreign currency up front? Several reasons, the most important reason is that you may find the currency exchange rates to be different in some other country and not as beneficial or adequate as in the US. Let’s say you exchanged $100 for 1.300 Mexican Pesos, which would be if you exchanged your money in US where the exchange rate is approximately 1:13 in favor of the US dollar. But if you went to Mexico and tried to exchange your money there you might find that the exchange rate is 1:11, and you will lose 200 pesos that way. It is very important to find the best exchange rate for your travel, especially if you are on a limited budget, as that may prove significant.
One other thing to keep in mind when exchanging rates in the US is that not all exchange facilities offer the same rates. You may find that your local exchange office has 1:30 ratio for some other currency, and that some other exchange office has 1:28 ratio for the same currency. To be able to know what the best rate is you can check television reports or you can check online to see the average currency rate for the currency that you are interested in. You should also be aware that if any currency rate varies more than 10% from the given rate by the US Treasury you should avoid exchanging money at that exchange office.
When you exchange money up front with the right exchange rate you are all set for enjoying your travel. This way you eliminate the chance of being left with less money than you planned to carry or spend and you won’t have to be afraid of getting lost in another country with no money. For everything you do in your life preparation is important, especially when you are journeying into unknown.
Sex education is broad term that encompasses a wide range of topics that relate to human sexual anatomy, sexual intercourse, sexual reproduction, reproductive health, reproductive rights, contraception, and other facets of human sexual behavior. Sex education can be a part of school programs but it can also be informally taught by parents or guardians or through various public health campaigns.
Sex education may also pertain to ‘sexuality education,’ which means that it also covers all perspectives about human sexuality. As such, it would integrate discussions about reproduction, family planning, and all the elements of one’s sexuality. Human sexuality in itself is a scopic term which takes into account body image; sexual orientation; morals and values; communication and decision making; dating and relationships. Also included are more sensitive topics such as sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and birth control methods.
As aforementioned sex education can be taught informally, such as discussing the matter with parents or friends. It can also be imparted by religious leaders, advocate groups, government campaigns or through mass media. The subject can also be effectively delivered through sex self-help authors, newspaper and magazine articles, or through a number of sex education websites.
Sex education from the onset of its conception to date has remained a sensitive and controversial issue in several nations. There are schools that incorporate sex education as a full course as part of the curriculum, particularly in junior high school or high school. In other instances, it just forms part of a broader topic such as biology, health and fitness or physical education. There are schools with no sex education in their curriculum, since there has been much debate as to the age at which students ought to be exposed to such sensitive topics, the amount of information that should be taught, and topics dealing with human sexual behavior.
Whenever sex education is subjected to debates, the primary argument is whether discussing sexuality is beneficial or detrimental among teenagers. Among the points of contention are the use of birth control, teenage pregnancy, abortion and the transmission of diseases. It has been revealed that countries with conservative outlook towards sex education tend to have a higher incidence of teenage pregnancy and STIs.
Other pressing issues have come to the fore and have fueled a new sense of urgency to the topic of sex education. Perhaps the most glaring example is the unprecedented spread of the AIDS virus. In Africa for instance, where AIDS has reached pandemic proportions, sex education is viewed by experts as a key component in developing an effective public health strategy.
The Sexuality Information and Education Council of the United States (SIECUS) reported that 93% of adults who took part in their survey professed support for sex education in high school and 84% expressed support to have sex education introduced in junior high school. Moreover, 88% of parents of junior high school students and 80% of parents of high school students believe that formal sex education would make it easier for them to candidly talk to their teenagers about sex.
